Early Farm Years

Ed & Bessie Wilson bought their Beaverton farm in 1920; their home was built in 1923 and the new barn was built in 1932. Howard really didn't like working for the Pillsbury Flour Mill in Astoria in 1936-37 as a chemist. The cold winter and dreary weather fueled his longing for home and his farm in Beaverton. His love and passion for farming is clear in his essay, Farm Life by Howard Wilson, 1937.
